How it works
Introduction
The personal vaporizer is a device designed to "micro mist" a liquid of water, propyl or vegetable glycol, flavorings and nicotine (if the user wants nicotine) into a fine mist that's inhaled by the user. Microprocessors sense air movement when the user inhales on the mouthpiece and the liquid is heated into a vapor.
Keeping it Clean
Unlike some other bad habits people may indulge in, "vaping" is a relatively clean exercise. There are no chemicals, toxins or smells released into the air that could bother or harm people around the vapor; nothing that can foul the air, clothes or furniture. As a result, your personal choice STAYS personal. Due to its' resemblance to other bad habits, however, Vapour Warehouse recommends you ask permission before vaping around other folks.
A little history
The inventor, Hon Lik, of the Chinese company Ruyan developed the technology in 2002, patented it in 2003 and introduced it to the Asian market in 2005. The personal vaporizer has been spreading around the globe since then and experienced it's first faint glimmers of interest in the U.S around the end of 2007. It's still a rare phenomenon in the states however - according to the U.S. Customs database, only $89,000 in wholesale product were imported to America in 2008.
When you take a drag on the mouthpiece a pneumatic airflow sensor switch is triggered which in turn activates the battery. The battery lights up the LED at the far end of the vaporizer and fires up a micro-processor which activates the atomiser. Small droplets of the liquid are sucked through the atomiser which creates pressure low enough to boil it and form thousands of even smaller droplets (vapour mist) which get released into the airflow. The resulting mist intensifies the flavor and sensory experience of "vaping" and delivers a strong "hit" of flavor to the taste centers of the user.
